Last Saturday we took the kids on a hike to see beautiful Stewart Falls in Provo canyon. It was a pretty cool and breezy day, and we actually saw snow in several places! The scenery was really amazing, and the falls were incredible. The hike was a lot longer (4 miles total!) and more challenging than we expected, but the kids were troopers and did a super job! Their most favorite part was throwing rocks in the stream--even Paige loved doing it! To help pass time on the way out we played funny guessing games and made up silly stories. It was a really fun family day!!

A Two-wheeler!!

Way to go Aubrey! For FHE last night, we loaded up the bikes and went to the church parking lot. Wes took off Aubrey's training wheels, and laced up his roller blades. After just a few minutes, Aubrey was going on her own! She was zipping around and loving it. Annie was brave too, and tried without training wheels, but wasn't quite ready. And Paige had lots of fun pushing her bike around and having a turn riding Annie's bike. What a great night!

Good grief, you would think I could do this more often!! Summer was such a whirlwind, that I can't believe we're about to jump into October! Here are some pictures from the first day of school--third grade and kindergarten respectively, and a preview of Paige's Halloween costume.

Ok, I have a serious amount of catching up to do! So, we're going to start with the end of school. Annie absolutely adored her teacher Mrs. Taylor. She is really an incredible person! We were all sad for the year to end. The graduation was so cute--the kids all got to show some of the work and some of the things they learned. Look out kindergarten, here she comes!!

The entire 2nd grade class put on a musical program for all the parents. They sang some great patriotic songs and many others. They were so darling, and they really put their hearts into it. Aubrey had a lot of fun!

Really, I so wish that I could post the picture and video...it is so hilarious! Sadly, it's for home-viewing only! The other night I was getting the kids ready for bed, and I told Annie to put her clothes in the hamper and get in the bathtub. 30 seconds later, she appears in the bathroom doorway, wearing not-a-thing and toting her pink Barbie guitar! She then proceeded to put on one amazing concert!! Aubrey laughed until she cried, and Paige danced right along with the music. Wes was standing behind Annie in the bedroom and managed to film the entire thing without Annie knowing it. It was unbelievably funny--what a kid! And just think how much mileage we can get out of that video when she's a teenager...

I can't believe how fast this year has flown by!! Paige had a really great birthday--lots of fun toys, cute clothes, and delicious cake. Grandma Leita, Katie, Taylor, Anna Leita and Max all came over for the celebration. She was so funny with her cake. She didn't hesitate for a minute; she got a fist full of frosting and couldn't have been happier! She is such a sweetheart--so full of giggles and sunshine and mischief! She is very good natured, but becoming independent; she is funny and she knows it; and she has shown that she can take Annie and occasionally dish it right back! She has also managed to wrap pretty much everyone she knows around her little finger! What an angel!!

There is no end of the silliness in this house! Someone is always making us laugh. Paige has discovered that she is funny--so she loves to do goofy things that crack us up. She has this funny way of crinkling up her nose that never fails to make her Dad laugh! Here are a bunch of fun pictures from the last month or so!

Long time, no blog

Things have been a little busy lately. Ok, things have been overwhelmingly-crazy busy and I feel like a chicken with it's head cut off!! But really, I'm fine. :) Anyway, with a lot of prayers, deep breathing, and running (and very little sleep), we're still hanging in there! I'm not going to go on and on about everything that has been happening, but if any of you want a good laugh call me and I will tell you all about our adventures in water heaters and furnaces (only a drop in the bucket)!!!

Anyway, last Saturday was Aubrey's baptism!! It was a wonderful, wonderful day. She looked so sweet in her white dress and was so happy and excited. It's been amazing to watch her grow and learn--I'm so proud of her! She is a little sweetheart, and so much fun. We had lots of family and friends to celebrate with and I'm so grateful to everyone who came! Here are some pictures of Aubrey's special day!

I think carving pumpkins has to be one of our favorite Halloween activities! I love to see the ideas the kids come up with for their pumpkin faces. They all turned out so cute this year! Aubrey even carved her by herself--with just a little help on the tricky parts! But Aubrey and Annie both adamantly refuse to help scoop out the seeds and goo. For all of their curiosity about the world, they both draw a hard and fast line at all things slimey and gooey! With the exception of worms, but that's another story! Paige danced and sang songs in her bouncer while we carved--she is such a little honey! My plan was to put her in the biggest pumpkin and take pictures, but it didn't work out! She is our very cutest little punkin!

This is kind of fun! I guess I'm supposed to find my fourth picture in my fourth folder...this should be interesting... This is Aubrey and her cousins Wesley and Anna. We went to Thanksgiving Point during spring break for the tulip festival. Paige didn't like it, it was unbelievably windy, and the tulips hadn't bloomed yet! But the kids still had a great time running around and playing. It's too bad I couldn't have picked the first picture in the folder--it's one of Wes wrapped up in toilet paper like a mummy!

Zoo-pendous!

The girls and I spent the day at Hogel Zoo with Grandma Leita and Callie today! It was a beautiful day, and the zoo was absolutely packed. We had a blast anyway. Most of the animals were fairly active--including my own! Paige was more interested in her sisters and Grandma's glasses and earrings than the animals. Our favorite parts were: peguins jumping in the pool and swimming around; the baby meerkats--incredibly adorable and small enough to fit two in your hand; the tiger that kept pacing back and forth and growling--we think he was trying to decide which little kid would be the tastiest; and of course the train ride!

Grandma has been asking for a picture of Paige in her mini-skirt, and here it is! Paige is such a cute little chunky-monkey that the skirt is constantly hiked up around her waist. Which is really all for the best because then everyone can see her fabulous chubby legs! Aubrey calls them thunder thighs--and this is the only time that would be a compliment! Don't you just want to smooch on her?!
